Producing a high gloss finish on tables & work surfaces

Even if you have access to spray equipment, sometimes its necessary to create a hard wearing gloss finish by hand especially when working on fitted units or away from the workshop.

Finney's Durapolish Clear Glaze - Gloss produces a high build traditional gloss finish. Simply brush on a coat of glaze and leave to dry. Cut back with 400 to 800 Wet ‘N’ Dry Abrasive Paper or 400 grade Lubrisil Paper between coats removing any dust with a Tack Cloth. Three to four applications will be needed to give sufficient shine and protection depending on the wood being coated.

To increase the shine further, leave for a few days and apply Burnishing Cream buffing with an Extra Soft Polishing Cloth. A White non-abrasive pad will also help to increase the shine.

Alternatively, for a very hard wearing modern gloss finish, use Rustin's Plastic Coating Two Part Cold Cure Lacquer.
