Creating an Authentic Old Pine Look

If you dislike the yellow-orange tone that new pine alters to after just a few months, creating an authentic looking old pine shade is easier than you might think.

First sand the wood and then brush on a coat of Finney's Stripped Old Pine Professional Water Stain making sure that you remove all excess stain with Lint free Cotton Cloth. When dry apply a coat of Fiddes Stripped Pine Supreme Wax or Briwax P7 Medium Brown Paste Wax with a pad of Ultra Fine 0000 Grade Steel Wool. Always work along the grain, buffing with an Extra Soft Polishing Cloth or Drill Brush to create a subtle sheen.
