How to treat timber decking
Timber decking is as popular as ever but its important not to use any form of surface coating such as varnish as it will wear badly and, when moisture becomes trapped, peel off in strips.
Liberon Decking Oil will enrich the natural colour of the wood usually pulling back a badly grey weathered tone to a warm chestnut brown without resorting to OSMO Wood Reviver. For a darker colour use Sikkens HLS Plus making sure that all excess finish is wiped from the wood.
Apply the oil by brush so that it does not form puddles and leave to dry overnight. This initial application should be followed by one or two more coats with reoiling being carried out on a regular basis making sure that any excess is wiped off with a clean cloth.
OSMO Wood Reviver is used prior to oiling to rejuvenate decking which has been subject to excessive weathering.
